Today I feel like writing

I haven’t felt like writing in a long time. I don’t know. Maybe it was nothing to say. Or rather I needed to be spoken to rather than just hearing myself speak.
But today I feel like writing.
You know, no one knows you but you. No one knows your struggles, your dreams, your failures, your hopes, your fears. You may have family, friends, loved ones, but at the end of the day some things are just you. I don’t like when people pretend to understand. Because they don’t, they won’t, and quite honestly they don’t have to. It’s not the world’s job to understand you. They don’t wake you up in the morning, they don’t put you to bed. They don’t tell you to put one foot in front of the other, or to breathe. That’s you. You decide to get out of bed in the morning, you decide to face the day, and for better or worse you make that decision each day. Give yourself credit for that.

The greatest gift you can give someone is not understanding them, it’s accepting them.
Accepting that they are a changing being, that grows– upwards, outwards, and sometimes shrinks. Accept who they are at that very moment, not knowing who they will be tomorrow, not caring about what they were yesterday.
Its easy to give advice, but it is harder to take it. So sometimes the best you can do for a person– instead of quoting platitudes–is to let them be. Let them express, listen, wait, and accept. Don’t try to fix anything, don’t say things are going to get better, because for all you know things will just get worse. But just being there sometimes is more than enough.
lol, to end on a less dreary note. In case you think this was dreary. God is good. At my very lowest moments I sometimes wonder about God. But stars shine brightly in the dark, and God has grace and mercy for every moment. He has blessings hidden in our messes, and little joys to get us through. I thank God, because I am unworthy and undeserving of His love and He loves me anyways.
God bless you. If your night seems dark, look at the stars and you will find enough light to brighten your path.
